9 pictures that prove Divya Khosla Kumar's idea of parenting is totally desi

From travelling to Vrindavan, to milking cows on the way, we think her style of parenting is totally desi and one that trully reflects Indian parenting.

From an acting debut in 2004, to a her second directorial venture in 2016, Divya Khosla Kumar, has come a long way. In these 12 years she got married to powerhouse producer Bhushan Kumar, settled down, had a baby and came back to the work force more determined than ever.

But all this success has come with its fair share of hardships that have taught her to not take anything for granted. And it is this value that she is now teaching her young son, Ruhaan.

In an interview to a leading daily, Kumar says, "No matter who you are and where you are... struggles will always be a part of the journey. Even the biggest superstars of the country have to struggle to sustain their position and power. I know I am blessed with so much, and people keep reiterating that I am Bhushan Kumar's wife, but I always stay grounded. Main kuch bhi ban jau life mein, I will never let it go to my head. I still consider myself a middle-class girl. Even today, while leaving a room I turn off the lights and teach my son the same values. I have a lot, but I don't take anything for granted."

For Kumar, like any other Indian mum, family comes first. "I work only day shifts, no night shifts for me. I need to reach home and spend time with my son. I guess the first priority for most Indian women is their family and then their career," she says in her interview.

While she has been busy with a thriving directorial career, Kumar has made sure to keep her son as grounded and desi as herself and her Instagram posts prove just that. From travelling to Vrindavan on Ruhaan's (4) request, to milking cows on the way, we think her style of parenting is totally desi and one that trully reflects Indian parenting.
