Congratulations are in order!
After Karan Johar and Tusshar Kapoor opted for surrogacy to become parents, another famous telly couple have joined the bandwagon.
This time it's television's funniest guy Krushna Abhishek and his gorgeous wife Kashmera Shah, who have reportedly become proud parents of twin boys.
The couple who were living in together for eight years before marrying in 2013, are over the moon with the arrival of their two little bubs. However, they have not been able to take their bundles of joy home just yet.
Kashmera and Krushna will have to wait to take the babies home
The couple reportedly had their babies six weeks back but have still not been able to take them home since they have been kept under observation. It seems that these twins were also perhaps born premature and had to be kept in the special care unit.
But if reports are to be believed, the happy parents may very soon take their kids home soon.
And while the couple are yet to make an official announcement, it seems that they might keep this under wraps for sometime before finally releasing pictures of their babies.
They have always been private about their personal lives and got married secretly as well.
Krushna and Kashmer'a secret wedding
In fact, in 2015 Kashmera reluctantly admitted that while on their vacation in 2013, Krushna popped the question to her and the very next day, July 24, they were married.
"And the next morning we told our friends, who had accompanied us, to be ready by 10 am. We got married at 11.30 am at a church one hour away from Las Vegas. We didn't even have the time to do proper shopping. Fortunately, I had a lehenga that I was carrying for a friend's wedding there and ended up wearing the same to mine," Kashmera told a daily.
She also explained why the couple did not share this news with anybody.
"Because, we weren't sure if our marriage would last this long. We had Sunitaji's (Govinda's wife) blessings along with the rest of the family. Krushna's father is the ultimate one in his life and he too approved it. We didn't not want a big fat wedding, so, we kind of eloped," she shared.
While at the time the couple did not share their desire to have babies, this news of them becoming parents is a pleasant surprise to all.
However, just as any new parent whose baby is in the ICU, Krushna and Kashmera are also anxious new parents, often seen visiting the babies at a Mumbai hospital. But right now, all they need is to keep faith.
When babies are in the NICU
As Karan Johar recently shared how he kept faith after he learned that his twins were premature and had to be kept in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
"If your baby is born premature, don't lose faith, don't lose heart. I can only share my own experience and hope someone takes heart from it. I feel blessed to have had the care my children received while at the NICU and for all the prayers and support I had - but I urge anyone in the same situation to remember that your baby has the best chance of a long, happy life, too. Don't lose hope."
If you are also a new parent and have your baby in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) then here are a few things you must keep in mind.
3 things to know if your baby is in the NICU
The neonatal intensive care unit or NICU is meant for premature babies. And while at first the place might scare new parents with its tubes and high-tech nursery, rest assured your baby will come out healthy and stronger once through there.
But here are a few things you must know about an NICU.
- Why opt for NICU? If your baby is born prematurely or suffered complications during delivery or is showing any signs of health issues during the first few days of birth, they will be kept in NICU based on the doctor's recommendations.
- What equipment will they attach to my baby? This depends on the health problem your baby may have. However, there are five primary equipments used in an NICU such as monitors and alarms to respond to the baby's needs immediately, isolettes and warmers to monitor the baby's body temperature, phototherapy machines to treat jaundice and respiratory equipments as well as machines and tubes to be used as IVs.
- Who will take care of my baby? There are specialised personnels who care for the babies in the NICU and these include neonatal nurse practitioner, nurses on shifts, a neonatologist, a respiratory therapist and a nutritionist among others. Basically, there are a lot of specialists who are responsible for your baby in the NICU.
