The favourite Indian festival for kids is here! It's Krishna Janamashtmi on August 25 and according to Hindu calendar it is the 5243rd birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
The festival is celebrated with much fervour all across India, especially Mathura and Vrindavan that is considered to be the birth place of Lord Krishna. Maharashtra celebrates it with the popular Dahi Handi festival that signifies the playful side of Lord Krishna, who was famous for breaking pots full of curd and butter in Vrindavan.
Many also observe a fast for the whole day and break it at midnight as Lord Krishna was born at that time. There are many Bollywood songs and bhajans as well that celebrate Krishna and sing praises to him. Here are some of the best ones:
