In an industry that thrives on youth, many actors often succumb to the pressure and go under the knife. Some of them come out clean and admit to having a botched up job (like Shilpa Shetty Kundra did with her nose job) while others keep us guessing with their drastic transformation.
Case in point, Ayesha Takia.
The bubbly actress who stole everybody's hearts with her affable performance in the movie Wanted is now a mother and recently made a public appearance that got many people talking. The chatter was more about her looks than her comeback.
What looked different?
With drastically plumped lips, thinner nose as well as seemingly stiff face, Takia became an Internet sensation and a target of trolls for her latest appearance.
The mum of three-year-old Mikail Azmi became a victim of slut shaming and cyber bullying after the comparative pictures went online. However, the actress (who was last seen in 2010 movie Paathshala opposite Shahid Kapoor) hit back at these trolls and shared an explanation of her changed look.
Takia explains the transformation
She told Indian Express, "Online trolling and bullying has reached a new level, I guess. A handful of vicious people and gossip columns have decided to totally morph and distort my pics (pictures) but the truth will prevail as I'm on social media every day and shooting/out and about. People can see what I really look like and luckily I have amazing followers on Instagram who I interact with daily, so they have not believed these lies and supported me all the way."
The 30-year-old even fought back the rolls by herself through her Instagram account.
She shared her newest images from a shoot and although she still looks different she urged her fans to, "Not care about false rumours."
In her post that she wrote along with this photograph she says, "Hey all you fabulous ppl, let's be super proud of who we are right now coz it's freakin 2017 and we ain't letting no bullies bring us down. I love myself and you should love yourself too. Be who u wanna be n do what u wanna do, don't allow insecure souls to try n calm down ur confidence. Be fabulous n #StopSelfieShaming, stop picking on ppl for who they wanna be it's lame AF. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one...so screw what others think and OWN it baby #ILoveMyself #dontCareAboutFalseRumours."
Irrespective of whether or not Ayesha Takia went under the knife, it is safe to say that she looks different. But the changes do suggest an effort to squeeze the face and make it look slimmer so that cheeks pop out and the eyes look bigger.
But ladies, let us tell you, you don't have to go under the knife to achieve a perfectly sculpted face-cut or higher cheekbones or more wider eyes.
You can do all this by using three simple tricks of makeup. Yes!
3 tricks that can make your face look slimmer without surgery
- Contouring: We cannot emphasize how much a face can change with the right contouring tricks. Invest in a bronzer or a contour kit in your makeup bag and define your cheekbones by using the contouring process. Apply the contour in a diagonal line from the center of the cheek, up towards the earlobe. Then add blush and highlighter to enhance your elevated cheekbones. And, don't forget to bring the center of your face forward by adding some of the highlighter on to the center of your forehead.
- Defines eyes: In order to have more open eyes for an event or even for office, all you need is a white or a nude-colored eye pencil. That's correct. Line your lower lash line with either white or nude (as Takia has done) eye pencil and it will instantly brighten up your eyes, making it appear more open and awake.
- Lip colour: Most people will suggest that you opt for a dark shade in order to make your lips pop. But contrary to popular belief, a nude lip shade or a light brown colour can make your lips appear natural and over-lining can make it look plump as well. This will also take the focus away from double chin, which will be more visible with a dark lip shade.
