Helping kids overcome the death of a loved one

Daughters are extremely close to their mothers and we totally understand Boney Kapoor's feelings right now. Losing a mother can be the biggest tragedy for a child.

Helping children overcome the death of a loved one can be a tough task as some kids can be way too sensitive. This is why you must be extremely careful of what you say and do in front of them.

  • While you'd be heartbroken and in distress for sure, it's always advisable to control your emotions in front of your kids. Same goes for people who're visiting you to pay their tributes to the one who passed away.
  • Try and uplift your child's mood by bringing in some change. Going on a short trip to a place of their choice or to somewhere else than home can be another thing that you can do.
  • Pets can be great healers as well and kids really like to be with them.
  • Encourage them to be open and talk about the things they have on their mind. Answer their questions with utmost honesty and help them understand what's going on.
