What Does Your Blood Type Say About Health Risks?

To diagnose most of our health issues, the doctor first recommends a blood test. Why do you think that is?

It's because a vast amount of information about our health and genetics is stored in our blood vessels, specifically in our blood types. And now there is damning evidence that blood type can even reveal the kind of illness that might get us down in the future. Yes, you read that right.

From cancer, to gastrointestinal diseases, and from heart attacks to memory problems, our blood type can unravel information about a plethora of illnesses.

As per a study by the Harvard School of Public Heath, people will blood group A, B and AB are at the greatest risk of developing coronary heart diseases than those with O blood group.

However, it did add that it doesn't mean that people with A, B and AB should worry too much about heart diseases. Managing their lifestyle and maintaining a balanced weight can help them tip the scales in their favour.

A recent study by the University of Vermont revealed that people with AB blood type have an 80 percent more chance of developing memory problems that lead to dementia, than those with other blood groups.

People with such a blood type were advised to be mindful of their blood pressures, quit smoking and stay physically active and healthy.

Incidentally, another recent study has proved that people with blood type A, develop a high risk of gastric cancer.

The study also stated that people with O blood type were more likely to develop peptic ulcer. Therefore, people with both these blood types must also maintain a healthy lifestyle, reduce excessive consumption of alcohol and reduce smoking.
