Aww! On her 5th birthday, Nitara gives dad Akshay Kumar a special surprise!

Aww! On her 5th birthday, Nitara gives dad Akshay Kumar a special surprise!Aww! On her 5th birthday, Nitara gives dad Akshay Kumar a special surprise!

Such a sweet girl!

Happy birthday, Nitara!

The bubbly daughter of actors Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna turned five today. And on this special occasion, the doting dad shared a cute and personal home video on his social media handles.

Along with wishing his darling daughter on her big day, Kumar also shared a special request.

Akshay shares most candid video of Nitara ever!

"My favourite part of every day...my daughter shaving me at the sink, precious times, priceless moments! Happy Birthday my Princess (emoticon) One request, please don't grow up sweetheart (emoticon) (sic)," he wrote.

But the cutest part is the video itself, which if you haven't seen, you must!

As he mentions in his post, Kumar loves getting pampered by his daughter Nitara, who also seems to enjoy this daily ritual.

Smothering his face with some shaving cream and asking him if that's all right, Nitara clearly stole many hearts including those of Kumar's fans who couldn't help but go ga-ga over the video and wish his little princess.

Daddy's darling daughter!

By now you may have guessed that as any father, Kumar is also especially close to his daughter.

In fact, we reported earlier that it was on her insistence that the entire family made a quick trip to the Swiss Alps on Kumar's birthday.

At the time, she expressed a strong desire to play in the snow and be in the mountains, a request which Kumar couldn't say no to!

"There is power in her big brown eyes"

But just because he gives in to their demands sometimes, doesn't mean he is not strict with them.

Kumar is known to be a disciplinarian father as well. In fact, on her fourth birthday he declared that he was going to enroll Nitara in a self-defense class, irrespective of whether she liked it or not.

“Whether she likes it or not, she will have to learn self-defence techniques. I already have a feeling that Nitara’s going to be a little Ninja. There is power in her big brown eyes, and I can’t wait to put that to some good use,” he stated at the time.

"She needs to be independent. As a father I would want to be there with her at all times, but I know that’s not possible,” he said  adding, "She will be starting her training when she turns four."

Kumar also stated that he wanted his kids to earn their buck and not depend on his inheritance.

Well, this dad is surely teaching his kids more than just moral values, he is teaching them an independent way of life. As stated earlier in this article, there are two prominent parenting lessons for all to learn from Kumar.

2 parenting lessons straight from dad Akshay

  • Gratitude: Having seen many hardships in life, Akshay is careful not to let his kids take things for granted. He certainly wants them to learn to be more grateful in life. "One needs to give kids the space to grow, and I do that. But instilling right values is important, that’s what my parents did, and that’s how I want it for my kids. They value what they have, everyone should be thankful for the many blessings they have," he said in an interview.

  • Humility: Having worked as a waiter and cook in Bangkok before he hit the jackpot in the Indian film industry, Akshay is aware that humility goes a long way. He teaches his kids these lessons through small things that he believes will one day make a big difference. Talking about having his son travel economy, Akshay said, "He has travelled economy on many occasions without cribbing because he understands that he needs to earn it, nothing is handed to him on a platter.”
