Bhabiji Ghar Pe Hai actor reveals how she lost over 12 kilos in 5 months!

When her character was first introduced on the popular show Bhabiji Ghar Pe Hai, Falguni Rajani aka Gulfaam Kali, became a favourite with the audience.

Apart from Anita Bhabi (Saumya Tandon) and Angoori Bhabi (Shubhangi Atre Poorey), people loved seeing her onscreen and her comic timings added more fans.

But all this adulation did not turn into content. Instead it prompted this MBA graduate to work harder on her self and change her body for the better. This meant losing weight and adopting a healthier lifestyle.

Character's popularity prompted the change

Rajani, who has previously worked in Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films took this lifestyle modification as a challenge and by her own admission was quite dedicated. So much so that she managed to lose a whopping 12 kilos in just 5 months.

“My character in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai is extremely popular and somehow I was feeling that I should lose some weight," she told an entertainment portal.

The popular actor even posted a comparative picture on her Instagram handle and captioned it: "See the difference how fat I was!"

How Rajani lost 12 kilos!

Rajani who is currently preparing for her stint in theatre with the show I Love You Two, where she is working with actors Hiten Tejwani and Toral Rasputra is excited with her changed look.

The Bhabiji Ghar Pe Hai actor shared the process she followed to lose 12 kilos in five months.

"After following a proper diet and regular exercise I have knocked down 12 kilos in 5 months. I am very happy because in my play I Love You Two, Marina wears one piece gowns or dresses, so my weight loss is actually complimenting that. I am looking good in the dresses and gowns and it feels great,” she shared.

It seems that this lifestyle modification has not only helped her physical appearance, but also boosted her confidence.

And while many struggle to lose weight so quickly, there are a few things that can help in order to shed weight faster.

3 ways to shed weight faster

  • Identify your body type: There are three basic human body types: the Endomorph, the Mesomorph, and the Ectomorph. "One can easily know his or her body type just by knowing about their health, physique and body structure. An Endomorph has narrow hips and clavicles, small joints (wrist/ankles), thin build and long limbs. Where else an Ectomorph has a thick rib cage, wide or thicker joints, hips as wide (or wider) than clavicles and shorter limbs. A Mesomorph will look well-proportioned even with a little added weight. They have wide clavicles, narrow waist, thinner joints, long and round muscle bellies," says celebrity fitness expert Vinod Channa.
  • Change your eating habits: As you begin to add more physical activities in your routine, it's important to eliminate junk and grease from your daily food consumption. "Eliminate sugar, sweets, and junk food from your diet and get your heart pumping by engaging in some form of daily activity such as brisk walking or biking, to begin with," shares Channa. Also, a proper healthy diet should proteins, carbohydrates and essential fats along with other important nutrients.
  • Engage your body in physical activity: Now that you've changed your food habits and know your body type, you can chart out an exercise plan that suits you. Start with slower activities that help you strengthen your body such as yoga. Then move on to cardio for quick weight loss and add functional, animal flow workout or conditioning workout for better results.
