Festivals are an ideal time for families and friends to get together, and celebrities are no different.
Be it Durga puja or Ganpati, famous faces are often spotted together to mark various festive occasions. Needless to say, these soirees can be quite exclusive and one such party that everybody looks forward to is the Bachchan Diwali bash at their home Jalsa in Mumbai.
Exclusive, lavish and extremely private, this festive get together has all eyes on it. Fortunately for everybody, the Bachchan family never fails to impress. However, this year it wasn't the decorations or the starry guest list that caught everybody's attention, but lovers antics by Aishwarya and Abhishek!
Abhishek and Aishwarya steal the show
Yes, that's right. The hosts came out to greet and wish the press but ended up giving us all major couple goals.
Dressed in bespoke Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla ensembles, the couple gazed into each other's eyes, held hands, hugged each other and Abhishek even planted a kiss on Aishwarya's nose, surprising everybody with their public display of affection (PDA)!
It was uncharacteristically forward of the Bachchan couple to put their love for each other on display, given how much they value their privacy. But it was easy to spot their comfort with each other, a testimony to their closeness.
In a recent interview Abhishek revealed that the best thing about being married to Aishwarya was the fact that the two shared a very comfortable and friendly rapport, "I get to live with my best friend. I can talk to her about anything, any inane thing, like ‘Someone scratched my car today’ and she’s there listening, saying, ‘Umm.. Umm.’
Not surprisingly when Aishwarya was asked the same question she replied, "That you’re with your dearest friend for the rest of your life!"
But their public display of affection was not the only highlight of the night. Some guests who made the cut left the media in a frenzy, thanks to their new marital status.

Celebrity guests who made headlines
The most anticipated social event of the year also saw many famous faces with their better halves. One such couple was the newly married Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover.
The new entrant into the elite celebrity zone, Karan got a taste of the Bachchan bash, thanks to his super famous wife!
She shared many pictures of the bash on her Instagram account and gave us all a sneak peek not only into the bash itself but also into the gorgeous Bachchan home.
The Bachchans are said to be quite close to the Raaz star and even attended her wedding this past April.
She posted pictures with her close friends and hosts Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya, and close pals Sanjay Dutt, and fashion designer Rocky S.
Apart from the newly weds and their close group of friends, the Bachchan Diwali bash also hosted some new faces. And one among them seems to have stolen the show!

Sara Ali Khan makes a royal entrance
Among those invited was Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan. Dressed in bespoke Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the brother and sister duo looked gorgeous and had the paparazzi in a frenzy when they stepped out of their vehicle.
The kids were not alone, of course. They were accompanied by their mum and yesteryear actor Amrita Singh and the trio were seen together with the Bachchan patriarch.
Apart from this lovely trio, friends of the Bachchan family including Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri and daughter Suhana; ace designer Manish Malhotra, director Kabir Khan, and actors Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandes were among those part of the soiree.
While the Bachchan Diwali bash is truly star-studded, it's perhaps the only most famous home that is able to highlight the importance of a family get together. Such soirees, whether with family or friends can be of great help in the overall development and confidence building of young children, in the Bachchan's case, of their granddaughter Aaradhya.

Importance of get together
Right before the actual Bachchan Diwali bash began, the family organised a private family puja where Aardhya was clicked with her mum Aishwarya and dadu Amitabh.
Needless to say, the trio looked cute and all set to ring in the festival. But at such a tender age, the fact that Aaradhya is exposed to such get togethers and a large number of social friends, only goes to show that her parents are interested in her becoming more social. This will also open up her friends circle, which is always a good idea for young kids.
But that's not the only benefit of organising get togethers with kids in tow. Here are a few benefits that such soirees have on young minds.
- Kids get to know many friends and family members: The biggest advantage of organising a get together is to allow your child to get to know his/her own family and your friends. This helps them become more sociable and they are able interact with people who maybe important to you but your kids are unaware of.
- Problem solving: When families get together, they are in a free zone to discuss issues and problems that may haunt them. This is also a great way of helping out each other and having your kids know that one must do so (help others) in need. It's a great platform to lead by example.
- Kids get to see a 'new' you: With family and friends you have known for years, you can be yourself and not necessarily a strict disciplinarian that you are when your kids are around. This way, your kids get to see a more 'fun' you and look at you more like a friend.
