4 Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss that work like magic

What if I told you that there are some Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss that work like magic. What's more, we all know about them but we seldom practice them in our daily lives. Here are 4 Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss that work like magic and are super easy to follow.

When it comes to weight loss, I bet you've tried everything in this world but Ayurveda. It's surprising that despite being the country that gave Ayurveda to the world, we Indians seldom use its principles in daily life. What if I told you that there are some Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss that work like magic.

What's more, we all know about them but we seldom practice them in our daily lives. Yes, that's right! Read on to know what they are.

Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss

Before getting started, let me also tell you that these Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss are super easy to follow and adopt in your daily lifestyle.

The basic principles of Ayurveda are based on the fact that a healthier body leads to a healthier mind. This, in turn, results in weight loss. Here are 4 Ayurvedic secrets for weight loss that work like magic and are super easy to follow:

1. Regulate your sleep cycles

There was a reason why our ancestors always stuck by the rule: early to bed and early to rise. The biggest mistake that youngsters make today is that they sleep late and wake up late. This is the biggest factor that contributes to unhealthy weight gain.

As per Ayurveda, the best time to sleep is from 10 pm to 6 am. Or to put it simply sleep a couple of hours after the sun sets and wake up at sunrise.

2. Your lunch should be your biggest meal

Ayurveda believes that you are not what you eat, but what you digest. Yes, that's right. And for the food to be digested properly during the day, it should be eaten on time.

This is why Ayurveda says that lunch should be the biggest meal of your day. Also, the best time to have lunch is at noon as that is the time that your digestion agni or fire is the strongest.

3. Morning is the best time to exercise

The ideal time to exercise for effective weight loss is from 6 am to 10 am. That's why all Yoga teachers stress upon the fact that mornings are the best time to do Yoga. This is because this is the time when the earth and water are highest in the environment.

Exercise during the mornings beats sluggishness, freshens up your mind and body and charges you up to face the day ahead. 40 to 60 minutes of medium to high-intensity exercise is recommended during the mornings for proper weight loss.

4. Drink hot water throughout the day

Hot water helps in dissolving the toxins in the body, which are known as ama in Ayurveda. These toxins accumulate in the body and result in weight gain. It doesn't really matter how much of hot water you have throughout the day. What matters is the when and how often.

Ayurveda recommends sipping on a cup of hot water or tea after meals. Better still you could sip on a cup every hour or so.
