During the Ganpati festival, these celeb mums have given us some serious style inspiration that we can absolutely use for our upcoming festival season

As people from across the country brought home bappa this week, Bollywood wasn't too far behind in celebrating the popular Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Dressed in their traditional finery, filmy families got together for the most loved festival of Mumbai.

Be it at famous pandals or at home, some of these celebrities really brought out the fervour of this joyous festival in their traditional best. And in doing so, they have also given us some serious style inspiration that we can most certainly try in our upcoming festival season.

#1 The colour block saree

The trend of the colour block saree really started a few years back, but vanished when net sarees came into being. But it seems that this trend is back again, thanks to ace designer Masaba Gupta.

And who better to bring the sexy back then our very own yummy mummy Shilpa Shetty Kundra. She donned this gorgeous green and fuchsia coloured saree with block print on its pallu. While she chose a simple long neckpiece, you can go for an updo and chaandbalis to complete the look.

This could be the perfect look for evening festivals and even for weddings.

#2 Modern prints on anarkali

You don't necessarily have to wear an anarkali that is laden with floral or paisley prints. How about trying one with a modern design, such as checks or gingham.

Take a cue from Sonali Bendre's fabulous bright yellow anarkali that has a small gingham print all over. She has paired it with with traditional jhumkas and this is quite an apt use of accessories for an outfit that in itself is quite an attentional stealer.

You can take inspiration from Sonali and use minimal accessories for your outfit or go all out and don a heavy Mohan mala, if you please.

#3 Traditional lace suit

This one is absolutely perfect for a day event, especially if you have a lot of running around to do. If you are a fan of lace, this is a good bet. Plus, there is the element of net that keeps the suit looking easy-breezy and festive.

Take a cue from Divya Khosla Kumar's lace suit and add this gorgeous piece to your wardrobe. We love how she has styled her suit with minimal accessories and has tied her hair in a braid to give it an even more traditional look.

How about adding a parandi? That would look great too.

#4 Ruffled kurta with palazzos

If you are a new mum like Genelia Deshmukh, a loose and flowy kurta can be your best bet this festive season. For day events, you can choose a light or pastel colour and for evening events, dark colours would work well.

Take a cue on accessorising from Genelia herself. She uses bare minimum bling for her traditional outfit that already has a bit of it, thanks for the gota-patti like design on the border and within the entire outfit.

#5 Cool, crisp whites

And finally, there is nothing like a cool, crisp white outfit that cannot get you through a long day of festivities. Take a cue from mum Karisma Kapoor who is seen flaunting her white traditional outfit with a modern twist.

Even her accessories are simplistic, letting the outfit become the main focus. If you have a lot of running around during the festival, thanks to your kids, this is perhaps the right outfit for you.
