Her grandparents decided to play the Happy Birthday tune for Alia Bhatt and the young actress got really emotional as she heard them play.

We all know that it was actress Alia Bhatt’s birthday on March 15 and her sister Shaheen threw a surprise birthday bash for her sister at midnight. But looks like birthday celebrations are still on for this bubbly actress as her grand parents were in Mumbai to celebrate her birthday in a very, very special way.

Her grandparents decided to play the Happy Birthday tune for their famous granddaughter and the young actress got really emotional as she heard them play.

Priceless! @aliaabhatt celebrates her birthday with her stunning grandmother Trudy Razdan... 64 yrs separate these beautiful women! #legacies #family #familytree #blood #grandmothers #granddaughters #blessings

Alia's mother Soni Razdan, father Mahesh Bhatt and step-sister Pooja Bhatt were also present to ring in Alia's birthday celebrations.

In fact, it was her sister Pooja Bhatt who took to Instagram and posted a picture and video of Alia's grandparents playing the Happy Birthday tune for her.

Pooja Bhatt wrote, “Happy Birthday Alia!! A glorious rendition of Happy Birthday for @aliaabhatt by her dazzling grandparents! Naturally there was not a dry eye in the house.. Not that there ever is a shortage of waterworks at a Bhatt family do but this one was truly special!#Birthdays #family #grandparents #Bhatts #legacies #giftsthatkeepongiving #memories #waterworks.”

Alia got visibly emotional and as it is clearly seen in the video she couldn't control her tears and started crying. On the professional front, however, Alia has a big smile on her face due to the rave reviews that she has received for her recent movie Kapoor & Sons.

The importance of grandparents

It's clear from Alia's reaction that grandparents are really close to a child's heart and no matter how big you are they never fail to surprise you in their own special ways.

  • Grandparents can, in fact, play an important role in building the value system of a small child. Sadly, in this age of nuclear families kids today are missing out on the values and principles that their parents received from their fathers and mothers.
  • Grandparents can be that much-needed channel that parents need to inculcate family values, beliefs and principles in their kids. As kids really don't like listening to their parents all the time, grandparents can be useful in teaching kids simple lessons from everyday life.
  • Grandparents can also be the much-needed support system for working mums and parents who are too busy to spend quality time with their kids.
  • They also help the child develop a close emotional bond with other family members and make him realize the importance of having a close-knitted family.
