We love how Akshay Kumar has managed to be so-so simple at heart, despite being one of the most sought after actors in India. But wait, before you nod in agreement because we feel that his sister Alka is way more simple, grounded and humble than him.
Yes, that's right! On the eve of Raksha Bandhan Akhshay Kumar's older sister, Alka Bhatia had a sweet message for her super star brother and we can't stop and admire her simplicity.
In her emotional video, Alka said that the one person who annoyed her the most when she was young was her brother "Raju" coz he would never accompany her or help her whenever she used to ask him. He would only tell her: "Apna Khayal, khud Rakhee" (You have to take care of yourself).

She goes on to say that there were so many late night parties in Delhi and other events that she had to miss because her brother "Raju" would refuse to accompany her saying that she needs to take care of herself.
"Mummy-Daddy would insist that if I had to stay out late or attend a late night party then I'd have to ask Raju to accompany me. He would never go with me and always say, 'You have to take care of your own safety.' And I would be like, 'Why?'" she says in the video that has already got 128, 118 views on YouTube.
She also added that how she was amazed to see Akshay take over the responsibility of the family when their father passed away suddenly seventeen years ago, but he would always insist, "Take care of yourself."
But when Alka was sending her daughter to study abroad, she realised the importance of her brother's message.
"I realized the value of his words when I sent my daughter to study abroad. When she asked me if 'Everything will be okay,' I replied, like Raju, 'Everything will be fine, just take care of your own safety'," she said in the touching video.
Akshay has indeed made a valid point when he says that girls need to take care of themselves, especially in today's times as the world becomes unsafer for them by the day. Previously as well Akshay has insisted that girls should be taking up self-defence.
And he is the first one to follow this advise as his son Aarav is already a brown belt in Judo and now his daughter Nitara has also enrolled in a self-defense class.
In fact, Akshay also runs free martial arts classes for women in Mumbai along with Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray. His plan to open 100 self-defense Karate academies across India in the next five years.
“I am planning to spread this self-defence campaign as far and as wide as possible,” he said last year.
