Anybody who is a cinema buff in Indian cannot forget the character of Nandini and Sameer from the hit movie Hum Dil Chuke Sanam. The film is as famous for its characterization as it is for kindling the off-screen romance between Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan.
But another iconic thing about the movie also remained the look that Aishwarya Rai channelled in the Bollywood love triangle. Playing the role of young Nandini, a girl born and brought up in a conservative Gujarati family in India, Aishwarya made an iconic fashion statement in her lehengas, saris, middle parted hair and a soft, feminine look.
Looks like that’s the look Aishwarya had in mind when she got dressed up yesterday for the annual ritual of Ganpati Visarjan.
Aishwarya looked gorgeous in red saree
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a gorgeous Sabyasachi Saree at the Lag Baghcha Raja Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai
Aishwarya sported a head-to-toe red look in a beautiful sari by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Aishwarya’s matka silk gold-bordered red sari was embroidered with hand cut metal sequins and was paired with a high-necked red blouse in the same pattern.
The former Miss World who is equally at ease in ethnic attire as she is now in western billowy and tiered gowns chose the perfect outfit for an auspicious outing like this one. She tied her hair in a low bun with center parting and completed her look with red lipstick.
And while the top to bottom red look is often a difficult look to carry in fashion as it can look over the top, Aishwarya managed to look beautiful in it.
Aishwarya teamed her saree with fabulous gold jewellery and a gajra
While some fashion critics may argue that Aishwarya chose a very safe look during the time when she is maintaining a killer body and is looking sizzling in her fashion shoots, we think that Ash’s perfect Indian bahu look worked for an occasion like this one.
Also the fact that Aishwarya’s smoking hot cover in fashion magazine Grazia that is out this month is currently the talk of town, the ethnic look that she chose only goes on to show how the beauty can flit between extremely different looks with elan.
Aishwarya who was seen with her husband Abhishek Bachchan, however, was seen sans her daughter Aradhya Bachchan. The fans definitely missed seeing little Aradhya who has become a fixed sighting with her mum these days.
It is a well-known fact that the Bachchan household is big on Ganpati celebrations. Sources have also revealed that Aradhya enjoys the festivities during this time of the year and even loves to take part in the modak making ritual with her nani and Ash’s mum Vrinda, we wonder if Aradhya was giving her nani, company while her parents visited Lalbaugh Ka Raja.
How to carry the head-to-toe red look just like Ash
1.Minimal makeup but red lips: Red is already a striking colour and does not require any other additional make up lest you may look overdone. However, it is best to sport red lips as that complements the look best.
2. Go slow on accessories: With a red look let the focus remain on your dress and pair just simple accessories to balance the look. Any statement pieces are best reserved for other more subdued colours.
3. Opt for a classic hairstyle: Remember the old fashion rule – When creating a dramatic look let only one element stand out. In case of a screaming colour like red worn all over it is best to let your hair not do the talking but only complement your look. A low bun like Ash or careless waves with hair left loose is your best bets.
