She was crowned Miss India Universe in 1999 and has since been scaling new heights. Whether it was becoming an actor or diving into politics at an early age or becoming an inspirational fitness enthusiast or an entrepreneur who worked for women, Gul Panag has done it all.
But now she has added another feather to her cap, and that is of becoming a commercial pilot. Yes, that's correct. The famous biker chic is now all set to soar through the clouds in a plane she herself will fly, thanks to her recently acquired commercial pilot's license!
She shared her happiness at becoming one through a series of photographs on her Instagram handle and we couldn't help but ask, "Is there anything Gul Panag cannot do?"
While speaking to Scoopwhoop, the actor said, "I have cleared all exams. Plus finished all flying requirements and passed my check ride (which is a flight where the instructor tests your skill and knowledge on the aircraft)."

Juggling married life between hectic movie schedules, her entrepreneurial venture with fellow actor and mum Shruti Seth and her love for travel, Panag has proved that there is nothing women cannot do if they set their minds to it.
Her recent triumph is proof enough that she was determined to add another respected qualification to her resume.
She even posted pictures of herself getting her stripes as well a copy of her license. She wrote: "Getting them hard earned stripes post a rigorous #DayCheck with @captsshakti #feelingfly #avgeek #aviator #instafly #upintheair."
In her picture of her shiny brand new license, she wrote: "#PPL requirement , validity, privileges. #avgeek #dgca #feelingly #upintheair #instafly."
With this one flying stroke, Gul has certainly proves that girls must learn to carve a niche for themselves and follow their dreams.
She has also given Indian parents a lesson with all her achievements and it's safe to say that these three are among our favourites:
- Follow your heart: Gul is an avid biker and traveller and even came to her own wedding rising a bike, so naturally the lesson is to follow your heart and be your own person.
- Do more for your kind: While many entrepreneurs work towards minting cash, she started Festivelle, which is a crowd-sourced cultural festival of women, for women and run and organised by women
- Never be afraid to voice your opinion: Through her many roles in films such as Turning 30, Dor and Manorama Six Feet Under, among others, and her stint as a politician, this 37-year-old has proved that now is the time to voice your opinion.
More power to you Gul!
