There's more to Vaseline than just soothing chapped lips and cracked heels. This evergreen product, a staple at every Indian household, has many surprising benefits and is way cheaper that your beauty products and medical gels available in the market.
Here are 7 surprising uses of Vaseline that you'd thank us for:
1.Diaper Rash
If you've tried everything under the sun to soothe your baby's diaper rash, we insist you go for this one last product. Vaseline works like magic on your baby's diaper rash and not only would it heal any existing rash, it would also prevent newer ones from occurring.

I came to know about this magical jelly months after trying all the rash free creams in the market and must say I never searched for more as Vaseline was just the thing my baby's soft skin needed. The petroleum jelly acts as a barrier between your baby's skin and also does not contain any irritants that other diaper rash creams may contain and add to your baby's woes.
2. Colour protect
If you like to colour your hair at home all by yourself like many Indian women, we know how difficult it could be to get rid of the stains that they leave behind, especially on the forehead area. While it definitely looks bad, there are some people who make it even more embarrassing for you by asking you about it.
But fret not, we have an easy-peasy solution to get rid of the colour stains. Just apply a thin layer of vaseline around your forehead, temples, back of the neck, ears and other areas that get dirty while applying hair colour. Once you're done, just wipe off the Vaseline with the help of a cotton bud and you'd be surprised to see the shiny stainless skin.
3. Shiny nails
If your nails are lacklustre and cuticles that are as hard as stones, Vaseline is your go-to product and one that would solve all your woes. And you don't need to apply it three-four times a day. Just slither a generous amount of Vaseline over your nails and cuticles before you hit the bed and leave it overnight. Wake up to smooth skin and shiny nails the next morning.
