5 times Lara Dutta Bhupati proved that mums can also be super stylish!

We take a look at the five times we think, Lara Dutta Bhupati proved that a working mother can be just as stylish when she works on herself

In the year 2000, a slender and extremely confident young woman became the last Indian to be crowned Miss Universe. She then went on to carve a niche for herself in the Indian film industry and won millions of hearts over the years.

Today, Lara Dutta Bhupati plays many roles at once.

She is a working mum to four-year-old, Saisha, a fitness enthusiast and the Well Being Advocate of Westin Hotels & Resorts. But even with so many roles to juggle, Dutta remains to be on top of her fitness and style game.

Time and again, she has proved that being a mother does not mean that one should forget about themselves. In fact, she created inspiring pre-natal yoga videos and continues to advocate a healthy lifestyle directly to her followers, through her many social media accounts.

"There are no shortcuts to a healthy life! You have to work at it, you have to enjoy it. For me, fitness is just one part of wellness—I find that to be a more holistic way to describe how I lead my life," she recently stated in an interview to Vogue, as she spoke about her healthy lifestyle.

No wonder then she is confident enough to up her style game every step of the way and be an inspiration to millions of working mums in India.

We take a look at the five times we think, Lara Dutta Bhupati proved that a working mother can be just as stylish when she works on herself.

#1 When she indulged in some power dressing

Although she has always been a power dresser, Lara Dutta Bhupati believes that it is her inner strength that helps her bring out her confident self.

"I work out regularly and I make an effort take care of my metabolism by eating right. I find a lot of people now have similar lifestyles, but maybe as celebrities, our lives are more visible. Many of us are juggling several roles and I would say that striking a balance is the key. It’s not easy, but it is important," she said.

#2 When she didn't shy away from "dressing up"

Every now and then we see the gorgeous mum in her diva-like gowns and there is nothing that screams "elegance" more than her. She was clearly super happy being dressed to the tee, as she posed with hubby Mahesh Bhupati for an engagement.

But this dressing up also needs hardwork.

"I am an early riser. If you manage your time well and prioritise, the balance is achievable and it’s important that you work at it. I work 12-13 hours a day, which is stressful and hard work. So I have to take care of my fitness and stamina," she says as she explains her inspiring daily fitness routine.

#3 When she wasn't afraid to show off her curves

Let's admit, most Indian women are blessed with great curves and often times we try to hide them behind our frumpy clothes. But not Lara. She believes in being content with herself and not afraid of her own body.

In this picture she shared on her Instagram account, she writes: "Do I love my Gaurav Gupta gown? Yes!! Do I love my Farah Ali Khan jewellery? Yes!! Do I love the curves?? YES!!!"

Shouldn't we all?

#4 When she had a princess moment, because she's earned it!

Being a working mother can be tough. And it gets harder when your personal life is lived in the public eye. But what gets Lara through her hectic schedule is her weekly dose of yoga. She credits it to a peaceful mind and a healthy body.

"I must say that yoga has changed my life. It has helped me maintain a balance between my hectic work schedule and my turn-down time. Plus, it keeps me feeling positive and uplifted at all times," she says.

#5 When she puts on her best foot forward

Like all working mums, Lara also believes in putting her best foot forward. And why not, when you've worked so hard on yourself, you deserve your princess moment!

"Fitness is about a fit body, how you look and of course it improves your health. Wellness goes beyond this and is also about how you ‘feel’ and how you think," she shares.

We couldn't agree more!
