While we always make it a point to teach about good manners and behaviour to our kids, how many of us practice the same manners every day?

Charity begins at home and the same applies for good manners and discipline as well. The way we behave in front of our kids has a direct impact on he behaviour of our kids as well. There are several times that we lose our temper and misbehave and forget about all the moral lessons that we give to our children.

Here are 8 actions that might not have a positive impact on your child's emotional health.

#1. Do not be too persuasive

It is important to have a say in every decision that your child makes, whether it is  choosing a toy or deciding what topic to work on for the class project. But, don't be too persuasive that you take away the freedom from your child and stop him from being independent.

#2. Don't be over possessive

It is natural to be possessive for your child, but over-protecting your child and being strict can have a bad influence over him.

#3. Think before you speak

If you want your kids to be polite and not use bad words in their day-to-day conversations, it is important that you set an example in front of them by behaving the way you want them to, especially when you are angry or annoyed.

#4. Do not ever bribe your kid

Do not bargain for polite behaviour and discipline with TV watching for an hour or by offering goodies to your child. This is not the right way to discipline your child.

#5. Avoid arguing

If you want your child to argue less, why do the same in front of him? Unnecessary arguments with your spouse or anyone in the family will impact the psyche of your child negatively and might lead to confusion between what is right or wrong.

#6. Do not quarrel in front of your child

You may believe that quarrelling is a common part of married life, but have you ever thought that it may have a negative impact on your child's behaviour. As a practice try and fight when your child is away.

#7. Yelling is not right

Yelling and anger has the most negative impact on your child's phycology. Try and be in full control of your emotions and do not let the child get affected by it. The last thing that you want is your child to have bad memories about you.

#8. Be patient

Raising a child is not a cakewalk. It needs great effort to bring up a well behaved kid.  Venting out your frustration on your kids is certainly not valid at any point of time. Whatever you may be going through, be patient and stay positive for your child to have a happy childhood.  your patience level along.
